Job Title: SEND provision Teacher
Salary: MPS / UPS
Contract type: Full-Time Position Fixed Term until 31st August 2028
Reporting to: Headteacher / SENDCo
St Luke's Park Primary School is excited to be in a position to appoint a qualified teacher with experience of teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) for a new opportunity at the school.
The new role is to teach pupils in our SEND hub provision, 'The Nest', and to promote a culture that embraces and supports pupils with Special Educational Needs.
We are looking for a team-player who approaches teaching with good humour and a positive attitude. We would like to appoint a teacher with a good understanding of Trauma Perceptive Practice and who is open to sharing good practice with colleagues.
If you are kind, organised and committed to ensuring the best outcomes for every pupil, then we would love to hear from you.
The role will include:
- Manage and organise the school environment effectively to ensure that the safeguarding of children and young people with SEND is given high priority
- Provide day-to-day delivery of outstanding practice to pupils with SEND including pupils with autism and pupils experiencing social and emotional difficulties.
- Ensure the effective development and implementation of the adapted curriculum for the overall development and wellbeing of each individual learner
- To advise and consult with professionals in and for annual reviews, referrals and one plan meetings
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and carers as appropriate
- To promote equality, diversity and inclusion and demonstrate this within the role, adhering to the Equal Opportunities Policy and SEN Code of Practice
- Comply with and support the implementation of all school policies
- To adhere to Health & Safety Policies and ensure all tasks are carried out with due regard to Health and Safety
- To work with due regard to confidentiality and the principles of Data Protection, encouraging others to do the same
Other areas of responsibility:
The teacher will be required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and follow and implement school policies and the staff code of conduct.
As a teacher, there will be an aspect of subject leadership within the role as all of our teaching staff hold areas of responsibility. There will also be the expectation that there is a contribution to the wider life of the school through running a school club for a period of the year. We would love to hear about the strengths you could bring to the role.
Please note that this is illustrative of the general nature and level of responsibility of the role. It is not a comprehensive list of all tasks that the teacher will carry out. The postholder may be required to do other duties appropriate to the level of the role, as directed by the Headteacher or SENDCo.
Visits are warmly welcomed. If you are interested, please contact the school office either on 01268 436 050 or by email admin@stlukespark.essex.sch.uk and the Headteacher will arrange a suitable time for an informal chat.
Due to the number of applications received, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted once the advertisement has closed.
Closing Date: Thursday 8th October 2026
