About Us

Fairview Under Fives is a charity preschool based in Rayleigh. We pride ourselves on creating an environment where staff feel valued, supported and inspired to grow. We endeavour to build genuine relationships with staff, children and families while maintaining high standards and consistent values. We have created a nurturing environment where team members have a voice, are heard and their contributions are recognised.

We are open term time (38 weeks) from 9.00am to 3.00pm.

The Role

Part-time position (20-27 hours per week across 3 or 4 days)

Pay pro rata £12.71 - £13.21 per hour depending on qualifications and experience

8.30am to 3.15pm

Deliver high-quality learning experiences in line with EYFS; motivating children to approach learning with confidence and high self-esteem

Support the care, development and well-being of children 2-4 years old, working in partnership with parents and carers

Contribute confidently to play and learning, observations and assessments.

Work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.

What We Are Looking For

A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach with excellent communication skills.

Preferably level 2 childcare qualification or above, with experience in an early years setting. However, this is not essential for the right candidate, if you are keen to further your learning and undertake a childcare qualification and have a genuine passion for working with children.

An understanding of child-led pedagogy that fosters natural curiosity, imagination and critical thinking

Have children's safety and wellbeing at the forefront of your mind.

Safeguarding level 2 and paediatric first aid are helpful, but we do offer required training to all our staff.

Safer Recruitment

This role involves working with children and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Applicants must disclose any relevant convictions, cautions or information that may affect their suitability to work with children.

Information about the School

Fairview Under Fives is a small, term time pre-school based in Rayleigh Essex, providing care and education for children between the ages of 2-5 years. A safe and happy place where all children are known and valued and differing needs are acknowledged, accepted and met. We are a friendly and enthusiastic team and place high importance on supporting the emotional wellbeing of children, families and staff.
