Whitmore Primary School and Nursery has an exciting opportunity for a SEND Learning Support Assistant / Midday Assistant to join the team as soon as possible.

The LSA hours are: 8:45am to 3:20pm Monday to Friday (including a 30 minute break), 25 hours and 25 minutes per week during term time (39 weeks per year, including 5 inset days).

The MDA hours are: 12:00pm to 13:00pm, Monday to Friday (5 hours per week) term time only for 38 weeks per year.

LSA Salary: Scale 3 or Scale 4, (Range 5 to 8) Actual Salary £15,497 to £15,979 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (includes paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods)

MDA Salary: Scale 2, Point 3 (Range 3 to 4) Actual Salary: £2,884 per annum, (includes paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).

We are looking for an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant / Midday Assistant to work in partnership with class teachers to support pupils learning in line with the national curriculum, codes of practise, and the school's policies and procedures.

We are looking for a person who:

• has an understanding of therapeutic practice and is able to implement this effectively in their daily work with pupils
• understands specific learning needs and styles to provide differentiated support to pupils 1:1 and in groups
• can implement planned learning activities as agreed with Teachers, adjusting activities according to pupils' responses as appropriate
• is able to attend to pupils' personal needs including help with social, welfare, care and health matters including intimate care, toileting, dressing, feeding, mobility etc.
• holds English and Maths qualifications - Grade C (Level 4) or above
