Assistant Headteacher - SENDCO

Salary: Leadership Range 12 - 16

(£69,331.00 to £76,480.00 per annum depending on experience)

FTE: 100%

Start Date: January 2026

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Headteacher - SENDCo to join our senior leadership team and champion the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities. This is a pivotal role, combining strategic leadership with a focus on removing barriers to learning and enabling all students to thrive.

As Assistant Headteacher, you will:

  • Lead and develop high-quality SEND provision across the school
  • Inspire, motivate and influence colleagues to ensure outstanding teaching and learning for all
  • Drive forward whole-school improvement as part of a values-led leadership team
  • Work in close partnership with families, external agencies and the wider community
  • Model the highest professional standards and uphold our school's ethos of ambition, inclusion and excellence

  • Brings strong leadership and management experience (whole-school or departmental)

BCHS is just over two miles from the M25.In February 2024, we opened the final stage of our £27 million DFE heritage building project. This provides new state-of-the-art learning environments including new science, sporting, technology, and art facilities whilst also retaining the character of the original school buildings that date back over a century.
