After School Child Care Lead required at Greenways Primary School
Hours:14 hours per week
Monday to Thursday, 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Friday 3.00 - 5.00 pm
Term Time only
Payscale: Level 6 FTE £28,163. Actual Salary: £9,033
Greenways Primary School is a happy, vibrant community for all, and we are looking for a passionate and aspiring leader to be at the forefront of our After School Childcare team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established after school childcare provision, running daily until 6:00 pm (5:00 pm on Friday) and catering for between 50 and 85 children.
We are seeking a confident and creative individual to lead our After School Childcare staff team. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children, organising staffing and ensuring high quality childcare provision. The role is all about creating a fun, safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive and enjoy themselves.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the effective planning and delivery of a menu of high quality activities using a variety of areas and resources within the school.
Determine rotas for activity provision and dealing with staff queries.
Create a positive, welcoming atmosphere for all children and families, building positive relationships with parents.
Be a model of good practice in relation to the management and supervision of pupils.
Engage children in providing feedback about activities and develop their interests.
Provide First aid (training provided) as and when required and in line with Greenways' procedures.
Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being, managing any late collections and safeguarding concerns
Ensure vigilance around safeguarding, including the taking of accurate registers, and ensuring that all concerns are reported and recorded appropriately
To engage in ongoing professional development.

Our large primary school is a happy, vibrant learning community situated in Southend-on-Sea.
The school is situated only 300m from the beach. We are blessed to have a large site with some fantastic facilities including our own swimming pool, Forest Schools area, environmental area and pond as well as two large playing fields.
