Maths Lead Practitioner

Salary - Lead Practitioner Range 5 to 8

£56,595 - £60,838 per annum (full time equivalent)

FTE: 80% - Working Tuesday to Friday inclusive

Start date: September 2025

Are you a passionate lead practitioner with a proven track record of outstanding teaching and a desire to inspire both students and colleagues? Join our Trust as a Lead Practitioner and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of teaching and learning in mathematics across our schools. This is an exciting opportunity to work at Brentwood County High School three days per week, with a fourth day worked across the Trust, helping to develop our innovative cross-phase mathematics initiatives.

As Lead Practitioner, you will:

  • Inspire Excellence: Deliver outstanding lessons and lead by example, demonstrating innovative teaching practices to raise attainment and engagement in mathematics.
  • Develop Staff: Provide expert coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for colleagues, helping to build capacity and confidence within the teaching team.
  • Drive Standards: Lead the implementation of pedagogical improvements across the Trust, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning are embedded throughout.
  • Shape Strategy: Work closely with school leaders to design, deliver, and evaluate cross-phase mathematics initiatives, fostering a seamless transition for pupils between key stages.
  • Collaborate: Support the development of digital pedagogy and curriculum innovation, sharing your expertise to benefit staff and students alike.
  • Champion Pupils: Take a leading role in supporting underachieving, gifted, and talented pupils, ensuring all students have access to the tools and strategies needed to succeed.

We are seeking an exceptional practitioner with:

  • Proven Expertise: A strong background in mathematics teaching with current experience as a lead practitioner.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience leading professional development or coaching staff to improve teaching practices.
  • Innovation: A passion for curriculum design, digital pedagogy, and creative approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Collaboration: A team player who can build positive relationships with staff, students, and wider stakeholders.
  • Commitment: A drive to contribute to the safeguarding, welfare, and development of all pupils, promoting inclusion and equity.
