Wishes to appoint a
Learning Support Assistant
One year fixed term contract
Salary: Thurrock Band A Point 4
(£15,797.67 actual salary per annum)
30 hours per week
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:00pm (30-minute unpaid break)
37 weeks per year - term time only
Start date: May 2024
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible Learning Support Assistant on a one year fixed term contract. The ideal candidate will have the appropriate skills and qualities to work with and support pupils with learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- The ability to communicate with other members of staff effectively
- The ability to build a strong professional relationship with the pupils and their families
- Assisting pupil achievement by monitoring learning against learning outcomes, informing the teacher of progress/problems
- Good organisational skills
- Good behaviour management skills
- Good basic English and Mathematics (GCSE Level 4 - 9 or equivalent)
- Good record keeping skills (Progress and medical where required)
- A passion for the impact teaching and learning can have on improving pupil outcomes
- A commitment to supporting the delivery of education of the highest standard

Information about the School
St Clere’s Secondary School is located on the edge of Stanford-le-hope, surrounded by a large expanse of fields needed for a vast array of sports activities. We have a stunning range of facilities including a drama studio, Apple-Mac suites, Science labs, a Sports Pavilion, well-stocked library with research and quiet study spaces. We encourage our pupils to engage, be inquisitive and able to succeed in all their academic and personal endeavours. We also offer specialist provisions for both deaf and visually impaired students.
