Required for September 2024

The Governors of St Benedict's Catholic College are seeking to appoint an exceptional, inspirational and innovative Assistant Principal.

The specific responsibilities of our Assistant Principals can be found in the job descriptions contained within the recruitment pack. We are currently appointing to our AP - Student Support: Behaviour, Attendance and Attainment. To maintain the effective running of the college and to allow for professional development, these roles may be reassigned annually. There is some flexibility about specific responsibilities within the Assistant Principal team.

Our 2023 Ofsted inspection found that we continue to be a good school, that we are a welcoming school with a strong ethos of caring for pupils and promoting academic achievement. We are recognised for many strengths of our college - as well as noting how well-behaved, confident and happy our young people are.

Student attainment at GCSE in the core subjects of English and mathematics, and in science and humanities subjects, is well above average. St Benedict's is a unique and supportive community and I'm delighted that you are interested in applying to be part of our team.

The post offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious leader with a commitment to raising standards to support the Principal moving the College forwards.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record as an outstanding teacher and of raising standards at a whole school level. Ideally the successful candidate will be a practising Catholic.

We can offer you:

● a warm and welcoming college with excellent links to parish communities

● enthusiastic and well-behaved students who are eager to learn

● supportive, hardworking staff, governors and parents

● opportunities to further your professional development

The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all young people and expects all staff to share that commitment. The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Informal visits prior to application can be arranged by contacting Miss Tammi Crawford PA to Principal on 01206 549222.

For further details about the college and for a recruitment pack and application form, please go to our website www.stbenedicts.essex.sch.uk. Applications should be addressed to Mrs Jo Santinelli and sent to Mrs Cat Miller, HR Administrator via email to c.miller@stbenedicts.essex.sch.uk

The closing date for applications is Monday 15th April 2024 at midday and interviews will be held on Thursday 25th April 2024.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
