ST HELENA SCHOOL - PROVISION 360
ASSISTANT CENTRE LEAD FOR BESPOKE PROVISION KS4
Pay Range: Local Government Pay Scale 6, Points 13-17
Actual Salary from: £23,605 - £25,271
Start Date: 1st September 2024 or sooner if possible
Provision 360 is our new alternative curriculum offer for Key Stage 4 students from St Helena School and Paxman Academy. Provision 360 is based on the St Helena School Site in a new building that caters for 24 students full time educational needs. The 24 students have been identified as those who will thrive with an alternative curriculum that has a vocational focus that responds to the individual needs and areas of interest.
The Role
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to work with the Head of Provision 360 and the Deputy Centre Lead to establish an educational experience for our young people who have struggled within Key Stage 3 in their base schools. Provision 360 is a new and unique initiative for the students of Paxman Academy and St Helena School. The educational offer will be a combination of a traditional curriculum offer using subject specialists to deliver English, Maths and Science and a bespoke personalised curriculum for the students complimenting their interests and needs.
This post is 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term time plus two additional weeks to prepare - this includes non-pupil days). This position will start in September 2024 or sooner if possible and will suit an experienced individual who has a good understanding of inclusive education and/or high-quality alternative provision.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Support for Students
- Assess the needs of students and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support students' learning
- Establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
Support for Teaching Staff
- Organise and manage appropriate learning environment and resources
- Provide objective and accurate feedback and reports as required on student achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence
- Record progress and achievement in lessons/activities systematically and providing evidence of range and level of progress and attainment
Support for the Centre
- Comply with and assist with the development of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting concerns to an appropriate person
- Be aware of and support difference and ensure all students have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop

Information about the School
St Helena School, part of the Sigma Trust, is a highly-regarded 11-16 co-educational Academy, recognised as Good by Ofsted in 2014 and now on a journey to Outstanding. Located on 17 acres in historic Colchester, the school has a fine blend of traditional and modern facilities and opened a £2.5m new Science block in 2015, and a £2.5m all weather pitch facility in February 2016.
