SEN Keyworker - Named Pupil

Band 3 points 5 - 6 Actual salary £13,338.57 - £13,561.63

25.00 hours: 8.30am - 2.00pm with a half hour break

Start date: As soon as possible

Queen Boudica Primary School is a thriving and successful two-form entry primary school situated on the north side of Colchester. We offer modern, well-resourced learning environments and our pupils are well mannered, dynamic and motivated to learn. You will be offered strong support from friendly colleagues and professional development opportunities to enable you to extend your existing skill set.

We are in receipt of funding for a pupil in Year 2 with an EHCP who requires an adult to work with them on a 1-1 basis, supporting the teaching team with delivery of an individualised curriculum focussed upon academic attainment alongside developing the pupil's emotional understanding. The pupil thrives on positive adult support and enjoys creative and practical activities. They currently work largely outside the classroom as they find the demands of a busy classroom and curriculum challenging to manage.

Positive behaviour management skills, and experience of working with pupils with SEND are essential. The ability to work creatively to include practical activities as well as having experience of managing an individualised curriculum would be ideal. The ability to lead 1:1 and small group sessions is vital. Experience of ASD/ADHD and PDA would be desirable but is not essential. Support will be provided from our SENCO, Pastoral Team and the class teacher. Close liaison with home and attendance at termly reviews are essential, and effective working with other professionals in a 'team around' approach is also important.

As with all posts in our school, the successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, in line with our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

We reserve the right to close the advert early if an appropriate candidate applies.

Closing date: Tuesday 9th January 9.00am

Interviews: Week of 15th January
