Hours: 25 to 31 hours per week across Monday to Friday, with an 8:30am start. Exact times to be negotiated with the successful candidate.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and committed HLTA to join our friendly, inclusive and vibrant primary school. The successful applicant will deliver prepared lessons and cover classes as required, as well as supporting learning in the classroom by working with individuals and small groups. We are a good school, where our children are at the very heart of all that we do. They deserve the very best and so we are, of course, looking for the very best to become part of our warm, friendly staff team.

This position is ideally for an immediate start in January 2024, although a later start date would certainly be considered to allow for those currently employed in other roles to serve their notice period.

The successful candidate will:

-have experience of working with a range of children in a primary school

-have experience of covering classes across the primary age range, particularly in Key Stage 2

-have a commitment to inclusion, supporting pupils with a range of needs in making the best possible progress

-put children at the centre of their work

-demonstrate patience, calmness and flexibility at all times

-have a warm, nurturing and positive approach towards supporting pupils' learning and behaviour

-be committed to being part of a team as well as being able to work on their own initiative

-have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills

-have a good sense of humour

-have a good standard of English and Maths, with GCSE levels (grade A-C) or equivalent

We can offer the right candidate a school where:

· continued professional development is prioritised

· children's behaviour is excellent and they are eager to learn

· our staff are welcoming, collaborative and hard-working

· teachers are keen to work in partnership with support staff

Please see the attached 'Key Information' sheet for further details about the role and how to apply.

Visits to our school are encouraged. Please email finance@sunnymede.essex.sch.uk to arrange a visit or call 01277 651364 to speak to Keir Ramshaw or Ronnie Branch for an informal chat.
