Downham Primary School, working in partnership with Berlesduna Academy Trust, has an exciting opportunity for a Midday Assistant to join the team to provide support for a pupil with medical needs (type 1 diabetes).

The position is for 6.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only.

Salary Scale 3, Point 5 (Range 5-6), Actual Salary £3,319 (including paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic person to join our team of Midday Assistants to provide support to a diabetic child at lunchtime, testing blood glucose and giving insulin injections.

We are looking for a person who:
· ideally will have experience of working with a child with diabetes or a hold a paediatric first aid certificate (training will be given)
· can provide care for children during their lunch hour, involving playing games, supervising the hall and providing minor first aid
· can work well as part of a team and has a commitment to improving and developing their own practice
