We are seeking to appoint a Specialist Learning Support Assistant to provide medical procedures to support assigned SEND students on a five-year contract.
Full Training will be provided
The Specialist LSA will be fully trained in medical procedures to support assigned SEND students and will be directly responsible to the Deputy Headteacher, for the health and medical welfare of these assigned students. The person appointed will provide intimate medical care to meet the needs of these most vulnerable students. Within the bounds of medical confidentiality, she/he should keep the Pastoral Team, informed where there is a health problem impacting on student welfare. He/she is also expected to liaise and work closely with teaching and support staff.
Training will be provided to ensure he/she can deliver up-to-date working and practical knowledge of medical needs in children and young people including catheterisation, epilepsy, double incontinence, diabetes and cerebral palsy.
