Cover Supervisor
Band 4 (Range £12,280 to £15,008) depending on qualifications and experience
28.75 hours per week - term time only
Required: January 2020
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and flexible Cover Supervisor to support the school as and when required. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be a positive team player and have a firm and confident manner. If you are a graduate and considering a career in teaching, a Cover Supervisor position could be the ideal way to gain classroom experience and decide if education is the right career path for you. The role involves supervising classes of pupils aged between 11-16 years in the absence of their class teacher, therefore the successful candidate will need to demonstrate the same level of professionalism and dedication as teaching staff in order to succeed in this role. The job holder will be supported by an excellent team who are passionate about helping young people to succeed. A degree or experience would be advantageous.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Supervising classes and supporting pupils.
Delivering cover work set by the class teacher.
Providing feedback to the classroom teacher on the pupil's progress against lesson plans, conduct of the lesson. Keeping pupil related records.
Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures.
Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
Provide additional support to teachers in classrooms, to carry out administrative tasks when not covering a class.
· Act as a role model, setting high expectations of conduct and behaviour.
