Teachers' main and upper pay scales

Some teaching jobs ask you to join a school. This one asks you to help create one

At The Wolsey Park School, a brand-new specialist provision for children and young people with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), we are looking for exceptional teachers who know that wellbeing and learning are inseparable.

We are looking to build the founding team, driven with the conviction and skills to deliver the highest quality teaching and learning that our learners with complex needs deserve. We are looking for teachers who understand that provision must be rooted in a deep understanding of learners' strengths, and the things that matter most to them and their families.

You may already be an experienced SEND practitioner. Ultimately, if you are an excellent teacher who shares our values and vision, then this could be the start of something incredibly exciting for all of us! You will need resilience, drive and passion, as the school will be growing rapidly over the next few years, and our founding team will help lead the way, supporting new colleagues as they join.

Safeguarding our learners will be the highest priority. We will be relentless in our pursuit of a physically safe and emotionally secure environment. We commit to undertaking adapted, proactive safeguarding measures that address disability-related issues including communication barriers, and we expect all stakeholders to do the same.

If you are excited to be part of a team that is building something exceptional from the ground up, in our sparklingly new school, and you know that you could inspire and facilitate meaningful learning in a school where relationships matter, then we would love to hear from you.

Although the building is not quite ready for physical tours, the headteacher would be very pleased to talk with interested candidates. All prospective candidates are also welcome to meet with the Headteacher at an open day in November. Pease contact Leigh Christensen, leighch@zmat,co.uk for details on how to book a place.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward looking, inspiring and proactive Trust with a strong focus of CPD and staff well-being.

We can offer you:

· Supportive leadership structure

· A dedicated, experienced, and hardworking team of staff

· Excellent CPD opportunities

· The opportunity to develop within a highly effective multi academy trust

· A wide range of employee benefits and wellbeing initiatives

Information about the School

This specialist school will consist of two sites, combining to offer 252 places for young people with severe, and profound and multiple learning difficulties, age 4-16 years. Cheryl is committed to growing and leading a team that ensures Wolsey Park is a place of joy and learning, where children and their families belong and thrive.

The Wolsey Park School, currently under construction, will have a phased opening beginning in 2027. Our plan for the school includes high-quality facilities and expertly trained staff; our vision is for a place of learning where children are known and cherished, and are at the centre of all we do.

The Wolsey Park School is being designed for children and young people who require a highly personalised curriculum. Learning will focus on communication and wellbeing, within an engaging, broader curriculum of foundational skills and enriching experiences to prepare our learners for life beyond school. We recognise that some of our young people will face significant challenges, and we will make sure they have the right support, the right approaches, and the right people around them, so that they can make fantastic progress in the ways that matter most to them and their families.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
