Could You Make a Difference to Our School?

We are looking for a new School Governor / Board Member

Our school is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Governing Board and play an important role in supporting the school's continued development and success.

Established in 2020, Omnia Foundation is a successful Independent Special School specialising in Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We offer a unique, supportive and engaging educational experience for boys aged 12-16 with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Following our recent successful Ofsted inspection, we are delighted to have received approval to increase our student capacity, reflecting our continued growth and commitment to providing high-quality, personalised education and support.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have skills, knowledge or professional experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Teaching and Learning - experience of education, curriculum development, teaching, learning, assessment or supporting educational improvement.
  • Special Educational Needs - knowledge or experience of supporting pupils with additional needs and promoting inclusive education.
  • Quality and Standards - experience of monitoring quality, evaluating performance, reviewing outcomes and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Independent School Standards - knowledge or experience of compliance, governance, safeguarding, policies and regulatory requirements within an independent school setting.
  • Health and Safety - professional or practical experience in health and safety, risk management, compliance, premises or related areas.

You do not need previous experience as a governor. What matters most is your willingness to contribute, ask thoughtful, considered questions, listen to different perspectives and work collaboratively in the best interests of our pupils and school community.

What does a Governor / Board Member do?

Our Governors/Board Members provide strategic oversight, supportive challenge and support to the school and its leaders. They work with the Head of Foundation and leadership team to help ensure that the school maintains high standards, meets its responsibilities and continues to provide the best possible education and environment for our pupils. Governance meetings are held twice each term, during the afternoon, and Governors/Board Members will be expected to visit the school at least once a term, focussed on their area of responsibility.

This is a rewarding opportunity to use your experience and expertise to make a meaningful contribution to the life and future of our school.

Interested?

If you have relevant experience and would like to find out more about becoming a School Governor / Board Member, we would love to hear from you.
