Term Time Only (38 weeks plus 5 non-pupil days)

Working Hours: 8:40am - 3:00pm, including a 30-minute lunch break and a 15-minute morning break.

Lyons Hall Primary School is seeking to appoint a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive team.

This role will involve supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other additional learning needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping children access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential within our school setting.

Working closely with teachers, the SENCo, families and external professionals, you will provide effective and nurturing support tailored to individual pupil needs. You will contribute to the delivery of personalised learning programmes, interventions and strategies that enable children to thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with a range of SEND needs.
Deliver personalised learning activities and interventions under the guidance of the teacher and SENCo.
Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and emotional regulation.
Provide support during lunchtimes and other less structured parts of the school day.
Work collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies.
Contribute to the inclusion, progress and personal development of children with additional needs.
Relevant training and support will be provided.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare.
Be able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Have experience supporting children with ASD and SEMH needs within a mainstream setting.
Be able to take direction from a range of stakeholders and adapt their approach to meet individual needs.
Have a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs and a commitment to ensuring children are at the centre of everything they do.
Be inclusive, patient and resilient.
Be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Knowledge or experience of Trauma Perceptive Practice (TPP) would be advantageous.
