We are seeking an organised, accurate and experienced Data Manager to join our school team on a fixed-term basis until 31 August 2027.

This is an important role within the school, with responsibility for ensuring that our management information and student data are accurate, secure and used effectively to support the day-to-day running of the school and its wider strategic priorities.

Alongside the usual responsibilities of a Data Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our school through its transition to Arbor, helping to ensure that data, processes and systems are successfully transferred and embedded.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and maintaining accurate student and school data within the school's Management Information System (MIS).
  • Producing statutory returns, including the School Census, and ensuring submissions are accurate and completed within required deadlines.
  • Maintaining student records, admissions and leavers information and other core school data.
  • Producing reports, analysis and management information for senior leaders, governors and other colleagues as required.
  • Supporting the collection, checking and analysis of assessment, attendance and other school performance data.
  • Ensuring data is handled securely and in accordance with UK GDPR, data protection requirements and school policies.
  • Working closely with administrative, pastoral, curriculum and leadership teams to maintain high standards of data quality.
  • Supporting the school's transition to Arbor, including data preparation and cleansing, migration checks, system configuration and testing.
  • Helping colleagues understand and adopt new Arbor processes and providing practical support during implementation.
  • Reviewing existing data processes and identifying opportunities to make effective use of Arbor once the new system is established.
  • Liaising with Arbor, the school's IT support and other relevant partners where required during the transition.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with school data and Management Information Systems; experience of Arbor would be particularly valuable.
  • Has a strong understanding of data quality and the importance of accurate school records.
  • Isconfident working with spreadsheets, reports and large amounts of data.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and can identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Can manage competing priorities and work effectively to statutory and internal deadlines.
  • Is confident communicating with colleagues at all levels and can explain data and systems clearly.
  • Is able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Is proactive, adaptable and comfortable supporting colleagues through a period of system change.
