Rainbow Preschool is located in the Myland Community of Colchester.
We provide sessional care for children aged between 2 and 4 years old. This is a warm and friendly setting with a dedicated team. The pre-school operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays term time only.
We are committed to ensure every staff member is supported in their continuous professional development and their well-being.
We are looking for a qualified pre-school practitioner who has completed SENCO training and with experience working with SEN children to join our team.
The hours we are offering are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8.45am-3.15pm.
We support all our staff with continuous professional development and can help you achieve further childcare qualifications if you choose to follow that path.
As a Pre-School Practitioner, you will plan, create, implement and reflect on engaging activities, tailored to each of your key children, to encourage their development towards key milestones. You will create a safe environment that allows children the freedom to express themselves, engage their minds, and help to foster a lifelong love of learning.
As the preschool Special needs educational needs Coordinator, you will work with SEN children and their key person to complete and update one plans, ensure that all practitioners in the setting understand their responsibilities to children with SEN and the settings approach to identifying and meeting SEN. advising and supporting colleagues, ensure that parents are closely involved throughout, and liaising with professionals or agencies beyond the setting.

What we're looking for
· Full and relevant Level 2 or3 or Early Years qualification
. completed a Certsy course or SENCO equivalent course
· Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments
· Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
· Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection
. strong knowledge and understanding of SEN
· Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents/ carers and outside agencies
Rainbow preschool are committed to safe practice in recruitment and selection that includes consideration of issues regarding child protection, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. All staff will be expected to complete a DBS check if they are not already on the DBS Update Service and supply us with two previous employment references.
