Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our inclusive and nurturing school community. This role involves leading the day-to-day operation of The Nest-a fluid, nurture-based provision designed to support KS1 pupils with significant needs. You will deliver high-quality, targeted interventions and nurture-based continuous provision to prepare pupils for successful transition and integration back into their mainstream classrooms or to a specialist setting.
This role involves close liaison with class teachers to communicate curriculum planning from the classroom and how this can be interpreted into provision through offering intensive interaction, continuous provision tasks and targeted activities for pupils. With supporting staff who you will manage and lead, you will work together to:
· apply intensive interaction strategies
· organise sensory play and circuits
· develop fine and gross motor skills
· progress individually required interventions
· apply speech, language and communication strategies throughout the setting to enable communication for all
· create visuals and organise resources as needed
· respond appropriately to behaviour, health and intimate care needs of pupils throughout the day
· note pupil progress using school's tracker system and feed back to class teachers
· receive and hand over pupils at the start and the end of the day to parents and carers and complete communication journals
