Experienced Year 6 Teacher

Are you an enthusiastic, experienced teacher who is passionate about helping children thrive as they prepare for the next stage of their education?

Kingswood Primary School & Nursery is looking for an experienced Year 6 teacher to join our dedicated and supportive team until 31 August 2027.

Start date: Negotiable

We are happy to consider both full-time and part-time applications.

The role
As a Year 6 teacher, you will:

Provide high-quality, engaging and purposeful teaching across the Year 6 curriculum.
Have high expectations of every child and ensure that all pupils are supported to make strong progress.
Prepare pupils effectively for the transition to secondary school, building their confidence, independence and resilience.
Use assessment effectively to identify needs, address misconceptions and maximise progress.
Create a calm, positive and stimulating classroom environment where children feel safe to take risks and enjoy learning.
Develop pupils' reading, writing and mathematical skills, enabling them to apply their knowledge confidently.
Deliver a broad and creative curriculum that encourages curiosity, enquiry and a love of learning.
Support pupils' social, emotional and personal development alongside their academic achievement.
Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of our school.
Year 6 is an exciting and important year at Kingswood. Our pupils are given opportunities to develop leadership, responsibility and independence, including through our Junior Management Team. We are looking for someone who will embrace these opportunities and help our pupils become confident young people ready for their next chapter.
