Beckers Green Primary School is part of Saffron Academy Trust and is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

We are seeking dedicated, resilient and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistants to join our team. The successful candidates will support children with SEMH needs, helping them to access learning and thrive in our nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

· Provide high-quality support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

· Assist in the planning and delivery of personalised learning programmes that make full use of both indoor and outdoor learning environments.

· Build positive, nurturing relationships with children, supporting their emotional wellbeing and development.

· Help create a safe, structured, engaging and inspiring learning environment.

· Work collaboratively with teaching staff, families and external agencies to provide tailored support for individual pupils.

· Promote inclusion, emotional wellbeing and positive engagement throughout the school day.

· Deliver outreach support, working alongside colleagues to meet the needs of pupils across the school.

Essential Experience

The successful candidate will have:

· GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent qualifications).

· Recent experience supporting primary-aged children with SEMH needs and/or other additional needs.

· A strong understanding of trauma-informed and relational approaches to supporting children and young people.

· Experience of building positive relationships that enable children to feel safe, valued and ready to learn.

Desirable Experience

It would be advantageous for candidates to have:

· Experience working within an SEMH provision or specialist educational setting.

· Knowledge and understanding of SEND processes, paperwork and documentation.

· Experience of working alongside external professionals and agencies to support pupil outcomes.
