Fairhouse Primary School has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant / SEN Support Assistant to join our team as soon as possible on a Fixed Term Contract (linked to the pupil you will be supporting) until 31st August 2027.

The position is for 30 hours per week, 8:45am to 3:15pm with a 30 minute break, Monday to Friday. Term time (plus 5 inset days) for 39 weeks a year.

Salary Scale 3 to Scale 4 (Range 6 to 9) dependent on qualifications and experience. Actual Salary £19,185 to £19,784 per annum, (includes paid annual leave, which must be taken during school closure periods).

We are seeking to appoint a hardworking, knowledgeable and empathetic Learning Support Assistant / SEN Support Assistant who can support pupils with complex needs. Intimate care will be required as part of this role.

We are looking for a person who:
· has high expectations of the children and themselves with a passion for raising standards and attainment
· can think creatively to engage, enthuse and motivate children to learn
· is passionate about supporting all pupils, demonstrating empathy and understanding of complex special needs
· is confident and able to work with pupils with challenging needs, including social and emotional needs/behaviours
· has a good understanding of the primary curriculum and skills to assist pupils in developing a good standard of attainment
· is confident and able to support pupils in small groups and in supporting pupils 1:1
· has an understanding of different special educational needs including autism and how to support children with these needs
· works well as part of a team and has a commitment to improving and developing their own practice.
