SEND 1:1 Learning Support Assistant - Year 2

Hours: 30 hours a week (8.40am to 3.00pm with a 20-minute unpaid lunch break), term-time only
Current Salary: Range - National Minimum Wage to Scale 3 Point 7, dependant upon experience (Scale 3 Point 7 - £18,353 per annum)

Do you have a passion for helping children grow, learn and feel happy at school?

We are looking for a kind, caring and enthusiastic SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our team and provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 child with an EHCP.

The child has difficulties with social communication and interaction, alongside delays in language, communication and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

We are looking for someone who will take the time to get to know the child, build a trusting relationship and celebrate their achievements, however big or small. Someone who can make learning fun, support their communication and help them become more independent.

What we're looking for:

• Experience working with children with SEND.
• Experience and knowledge of Speech and Language development and strategies
• A patient, nurturing and understanding approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships and help children feel safe and confident.
• Enjoyment of supporting communication, play and social interaction.
• Creativity and flexibility when adapting activities to make learning accessible and enjoyable.
• The ability to work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and external professionals.
• Enthusiasm for celebrating progress and helping children achieve their potential.

Speech and Language experience is essential, and experience supporting children with autism and communication difficulties would be highly desirable.
