Canonium Learning Trust, winner of TES Trust of the Year (9 schools or fewer) 2025, is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and proactive SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team at East Hanningfield CE Primary Academy.

This is a temporary fixed term position to support a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), helping to deliver the individualised provision outlined in their plan. You will play a vital part in promoting the child's social, emotional, and academic development within a nurturing and fully inclusive school environment. This role will also include providing lunchtime cover as a Midday Assistant. The focus of this role is to take care and control of all the children on the school premises during the lunch break, ensuring the safety and good conduct of pupils in both the dinner hall and outside areas.

Our school operates mixed-age classes and is committed to creating meaningful, purposeful learning experiences where all children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The position is for 31.25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with a 8:30am start and a 15:15 finish. During this time you will also be required to provide lunchtime support for an hour each day and receive a 30 minute lunch break.

The Learning Support Assistant salary is £15,890.65 per annum

The Midday Assistant salary is: £2,933.10 per annum.
