Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to oversee the daily operations of our forestry nursery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a strong understanding of child development. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and creating a nurturing environment for children.

Working 4 days a week 7.30am to 6.30pm £33k - £38k

Deputy Manager Duties

• Assist the Manager to manage the nursery team, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of care and education.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes children's learning and development.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development, as well as staff performance.
• Foster positive relationships with parents and guardians, addressing any concerns or queries they may have.
• Organise staff training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance team skills.
• Assist with the daily operations of the nursery, including budgeting, resource management, and maintaining a safe environment.
• Collaborate with external agencies to support children with additional needs.

Deputy Manager Experience

• Previous experience in a supervisory or deputy managerial role within a nursery or early years setting is essential.
• A relevant qualification in early childhood education or childcare (e.g., Level 3 or above).
• Strong knowledge of child development theories and practices.
• Experience of SENCO responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Safeguarding.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development in early years education.
