An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our rapidly growing school.
Chapel Hill Primary School & Nursery is growing - and we are looking for an exceptional Office Manager to grow with us.
Opened in September 2024, Chapel Hill is a wonderful, modern and ambitious new school which is rapidly establishing itself as an exceptional place to learn and work. As our pupil numbers continue to increase and our school community grows, we are seeking to appoint an outstanding Office Manager to lead our administration team and play a pivotal role in the smooth and successful running of our school.
This is far more than an administrative role. You will be at the heart of school life.
Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will lead a busy and highly effective office function, ensuring that our administration is efficient, professional and responsive, while providing a warm, welcoming and exceptionally well-organised first point of contact for children, parents, staff, visitors and external agencies.
We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work; who enjoys leading people; who has exceptionally high standards; and who understands that a great school office makes a significant contribution to the success of the whole school.
The role
As Office Manager, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the school office and the leadership of our administration and secretarial team.
You will:
- Lead, support and develop the administration team, ensuring consistently high standards of professionalism and service.
- Oversee the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the school office.
- Act as a key point of contact for parents, pupils, staff, governors, visitors and external agencies.
- Ensure that telephone, e-mail and face-to-face enquiries are handled promptly, professionally and sensitively.
- Manage and develop effective administrative systems and procedures across the school.
- Maintain accurate pupil and school records and ensure that information is managed securely and confidentially.
- Support the effective administration of admissions, attendance, pupil records, trips, clubs, school communications and other aspects of school life.
- Work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team on school administration and operational matters.
- Ensure that safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection requirements are fully understood and consistently followed.
- Oversee office communications and ensure that information reaches parents, staff accurately and efficiently.
- Support the effective organisation of school events, meetings and key administrative deadlines.
- Contribute to the continued development of systems and procedures as Chapel Hill grows.
- Be willing to undertake a range of duties that contribute to the smooth and successful running of our school.
We are looking for someone who is:
Highly organised & efficient - able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
A natural leader - someone who can inspire, support and hold colleagues to account, while creating a positive and collaborative office culture.
Warm and approachable - able to build excellent relationships with children, parents, staff and visitors while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
Calm under pressure - school life can be fast-paced and unpredictable, and we need someone who responds positively and professionally when things don't go according to plan.
Proactive and solution-focused - someone who sees what needs doing, takes responsibility and finds solutions rather than waiting to be asked.
Discreet and trustworthy - with an excellent understanding of confidentiality and the sensitive nature of information handled within a school office.
An excellent communicator - with outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
Committed to excellence - someone who shares our belief that every aspect of school life should reflect the high standards we expect for our children.
What we can offer you
