Required September 2026

Do you wish to be part of a popular, oversubscribed school, where "Staff speak positively about professional development and feel well supported to refine their teaching practice" Ofsted 2026?

At JHS, we believe that "together we excel"-students and staff alike-and we are proud to be a highly inclusive school community.

We have an exciting opportunity for a confident, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Science Department as a Science Technician. The successful candidate will play a key role in high-quality science lessons, helping to inspire curiosity and a love of learning in all our students.

The role involves preparing, maintaining and organising equipment and resources for practical work across a range of science disciplines. The successful candidate will contribute to creating a safe, engaging and effective learning environment, ensuring that all practical activities run smoothly and efficiently.

You should have the ability to work flexibly and respond to the varied demands of a busy school environment. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with a proactive and positive approach to supporting both staff and students.

Experience of working in a laboratory or school environment would be desirable, although training can be provided and a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety is essential. This is a public-facing role, so fluency in English is required.

This is an exciting time to be joining the school, as we grow in popularity within the local community and beyond. Ongoing, extensive building works are adding state of the art additional resources to the school, and we are part of a dynamic Trust, comprising 6 local schools.

If you would like to be part of our journey, and make a genuine difference to students' life chances, we would be delighted to hear from you.

We can offer you:

A friendly and welcoming place of work, which invests heavily in staff training

Numerous Staff Wellbeing Initiatives

Benenden Healthcare cover

Cycle to Work Scheme,

Vivup employee discount scheme

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received. We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should a suitable candidate be identified.
