Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)
Part-Time | 20 Hours per Week | 38 Weeks per Year (Term-Time Working)
Mon - Fri 8:45am to 13:00pm (with a 15min break)
Salary £25,583 - £25,989pa pro rata
Due to the nature of the role, please note we do not employ close friends or family members of our pupils or staff.
We are seeking to appoint a reliable, friendly, organised and professional Administrative Assistant to join our school office team. This varied and rewarding role is central to the smooth running of the school, providing high-quality administrative, reception and pupil welfare support.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors, parents and external agencies, helping to create a welcoming and professional environment while ensuring high standards of administration and pupil care.
Key Responsibilities
Welfare
- Administer first aid to pupils as required, in accordance with school policy.
- Maintain and order first aid supplies.
- Liaise with parents regarding pupil illness, accidents and injuries.
- Assist with visits from healthcare professionals, including the school nurse and dentist.
- Support the general welfare and wellbeing of pupils.
Reception
- Act as the first point of contact for telephone and face-to-face enquiries.
- Receive visitors and ensure school security procedures are followed at all times, including issuing visitor badges and maintaining visitor records.
- Take messages and direct enquiries appropriately.
- Accept and sign for deliveries.
- Provide hospitality and a warm welcome to visitors.
Administration and Clerical Support
- Undertake filing, photocopying and reprographic duties.
- Carry out basic maintenance of office equipment, including photocopiers.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the school.
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining office supplies and stock levels.
- Support the administration of educational visits in liaison with the SBM and teaching staff.
- Undertake routine typing, data input and record keeping.
- Assist with the management of lost property.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous administrative or office experience.
- Possess excellent organizational and time-management skills.
-Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
-Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
-Be able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy office environment.
-Maintain a professional and positive attitude.
-Enjoy working with children, parents, staff and visitors.
-Hold a First Aid qualification or be willing to undertake training (desirable).
