Early Years Assistant

Term time only

Required from September 2026

St John's is a co-educational Independent School for pupils aged between 2 and 16 years. We are proud of our educational provision and offer you the opportunity to join our successful school as a part-time, caring, and enthusiastic Early Years Assistant to join our Pre-Reception team, working with children aged between 2 and 5.

We are looking for an applicant with a genuine passion to nurture and encourage young children. Working well within our friendly and supportive team is essential.

Hours and days of work:

  • St John's School term time.
  • Monday 8:45am to 12:30pm, Tuesdays 8:45am until 3:15pm and Thursdays 8:45am until 3:15pm.
  • Our numbers continue to grow so there may be opportunities to increase your working days as the academic year progresses.
  • We will have additional hours available at our holiday club, which runs during the maintained school term dates.

You must:

  • Have a full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
  • Have a genuine passion to work with children.
  • Be a positive role model.
  • Be willing to accompany the children to Forest School sessions.
  • Have excellentcommunicationskills.
  • Have a strong knowledge of the EYFS.
  • Be willing to change nappies.
  • Previous experience in a school environment would be an advantage.
