We are seeking enthusiastic and committed volunteers to join ourLocal School Board (LSB).This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills, experience and passion to support the education of local children while contributing to the success of your community.

You don't need to have worked in education to become a governor. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, professions and experiences who share our commitment to ensuring every child receives the very best education.

Our Local School Boards are an important part of the governance structure within Schools for Every Child. While the Trust Board retains overall legal responsibility, Local School Boards play a vital role in understanding their individual school, monitoring its performance and ensuring the Trust's vision is delivered locally.

We are looking for people who are:

Passionate about improving opportunities for children.
Interested in education and their local community.
Able to think strategically rather than operationally.
Comfortable asking questions and offering constructive challenge.
Good communicators and team players.
Able to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.
Committed to the Nolan Principles of Public Life.
Experience in areas such as education, finance, HR, law, safeguarding, business, estates, marketing, health, community work or leadership is welcome-but not essential.

Schools for Every Child are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people. We expect all of our staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be made a conditional offer subject to receipt of two references, an enhanced DBS check, barred list check, identity check, medical check, prohibition checks (for teaching staff) and will be required to attend a DBS appointment to complete these checks which will also include completing a DBS consent form, SD2 form, fitness to work declaration and provide the required documentation to prove their identity and right to work in the UK.
