We are looking for an empathetic, resilient, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our vibrant secondary school team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a thriving school environment that values staff development, student achievement, and professional progression.
About the Role
As an LSA, you will be a vital for students who need extra support, you will:
- Nurture Ambition and Support Progress: Work with individuals or small groups to support learning across all curriculum areas, ensuring students with SEND have full access to lessons through clear explanations and resources.
- Foster Independence: Help students develop their competence using classroom ICT and learning tools, guiding them to think for themselves rather than just giving them the answers.
- Build Resilience: Act as a steady, supportive role model in both formal lessons and informal settings (like break-time supervision), helping students bounce back from setbacks and stay on task.
- Collaborate for Success: Assist teachers with classroom organisation, help implement student 'Passports' and 'One Plans', and complete accurate computerised records and paperwork to track student progress.
- Care for the Whole Child: Help with social, welfare, and health matters, including minor first aid and accompanying students on exciting educational visits.
About You
We are looking for someone who models our values and brings a genuine passion for unlocking the potential in every pupil. What you must bring (Essential Criteria):
- Qualifications: GCSE English and Maths (Grade 9-4 / A-C) or equivalent.
- Experience: Successful recent experience working within a school environment, working effectively in a team, and basic ICT skills to support learning.
- Character: High levels of honesty, integrity, excellent time management, and the ability to use your own initiative.
- Communication: The ability to communicate with both adults and children, verbally and in writing.
- Safeguarding: A strong understanding of child protection policies and safeguarding procedures.
