Location: Harwich Community Primary School and Nursery
This role is offered on a permanent basis subject to successfully completing a period of probation.
Salary and Hours
Local Government Pay Scale 2, Point 4
38 weeks term time only (paid 43.5 weeks including 5.5 weeks holiday pay)
22.5 hours per week
Monday 9:15 - 14:00
Tuesday 9:30 - 14:00
Wednesday 9:15 - 14:15
Thursday 9:30 - 14:00
Friday 10:15 - 14:00
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team at Harwich Community Primary School and Nursery and feed our wonderful children.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment and takes pride in providing high-quality food and excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
· Preparing delicious, high-quality meals for pupils and staff;
· Maintaining high standards of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory and school regulations;
· Attend training and meetings as required;
· Maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene as directed by the catering manager;
· Using kitchen machinery and equipment safely and correctly;
· Deputise for catering manager as required;
· Assisting with deliveries and stock organisation;
· Occasionally to assist with special functions at the school- out of hours;
· Following all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations;
· Supporting the team to ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen operations;
· Promoting a positive and professional image at all times.
