Receptionist and Administration Assistant - CANVEY SITE
Hours per week: 36.50
Hours of work: 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am - 3.30pm Friday (30 minute unpaid lunch break)
(term time only plus inset days)
Scale 2 - point 4-5 (£25,185 - £25,583 fte) Actual salary (£20,774 - £21,103)
The role
Castledon School is seeking an exceptional Receptionist / Administration Assistant to join our team and play a key role in the development of our brand-new satellite provision in Canvey. This role offers the opportunity to help build something new, while benefiting from the experience, training and support of the wider Castledon School team.
Castledon School is an 'Outstanding' special school supporting pupils aged 5-19 with a range of special educational needs. Our new Canvey satellite provision will provide specialist education for pupils from years 1 -6 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) within a purpose-built learning environment.
We are seeking a professional, helpful, organised and dedicated person to join this new Office Team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, supporting staff and helping to keep a busy school office running smoothly whilst maintaining a professional attitude.
Key Responsibilities include:
· To answer phone calls and deal with face-to-face enquiries
· To use ICT to communicate with parents, as well as face to face communication, over the phone or through emails and letters
· To provide general administrative support to a high and accurate standard - including annual review documentation, trip letters, immunisations, after-school clubs.
We are looking for someone who:
· enjoys working with children
· has experience of administrative work in a busy office environment
· has excellent written skills and ICT skills, with the ability to multi-task
· Excellent telephone manner with the ability to record and pass on accurate messages
· is able to work as part of a supportive team
· can communicate effectively with both children and colleagues
· can maintain a professional manner when dealing with parents
· can maintain a positive disposition and remain calm under pressure
· can ensure the safety and good conduct of pupils across the school site
· understands and complies with confidentiality requirements
· has the ability to follow safeguarding procedures and prioritise students' welfare
· has GCSE Maths and English (grade 4-9 or equivalent)
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook or google is essential
· Knowledge of schools MIS system desirable
