Queen Boudica Primary School has an exciting opportunity to recruit an LSA to join our staff team in our in-house KS2 Inclusion Room, called The Cabin. This position is initially offered on a fixed term one year basis, with the intention that it becomes permanent in the future.

End date: 31.8.27

Hours: Mornings 8.30am - 12.00pm, afternoons 1.00pm - 3.30pm 6hrs/day

Pay range: LSA Band 3 scale 6 - 7, £17,701.59 - £17,973.57

Closing date: Sunday 14th June

Interviews: TBC

An opportunity has arisen to recruit a KS2 Inclusion Room LSA, working as part of the staff team to support a small number of high needs pupils who are unable to access the mainstream classroom. These pupils are from Year 3 - Year 6 in age and follow the National Curriculum.

The successful candidate will work under the line management of the SENCO and The Cabin Leader. They will be responsible for the delivery of learning activities including 1:1 interventions and small group work. They will also support transition for these pupils (where appropriate) back into a mainstream classroom.

Activities are planned by The Cabin Leader, although proactive input from the LSA is encouraged. The successful candidate will have a commitment to inclusion, an understanding of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

Experience of working in a SEND capacity and experience of regulation strategies, restorative practice and trauma-perceptive approaches would be an advantage, but is not essential, but a positive attitude and readiness to embrace each child's individual needs is paramount.

The Cabin is a new provision for September 2026, following on from the success of our similar EYFS/KS1 provision which was established in September 2025. Our staff team is positive and enthusiastic, and our school community is proud of its high standards of behaviour and friendly welcoming approach.

We are looking for an LSA who:

· Is pupil centred and passionate about children and their learning

Proactively engages with the weekly plan provided by The Cabin leaderand ensures all relevant materials are prepared and accessible prior to delivery
Collaborates with colleagues to develop knowledge of the National Curriculum, seeking advice where needed
Works proactively and on own initiative to implement relevant interventions and accurately records the impact of interventions, providing feedback to The Cabin leader
· Has knowledge of a range of effective positive behaviour management strategies

· Has an understanding of various special educational needs and disabilities, ideally including strategies for assessment, intervention, and different methods of instruction

· Is able to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues. The ability to communicate effectively with individuals with diverse needs and learning styles is particularly important

· Is a strong advocate for students with SEND, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard. This includes promoting inclusive practices and challenging any barriers to participation

· Has an understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, as The Cabin team will often be working with vulnerable pupils

· Has a genuine passion for creating an inclusive environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported

We strongly recommend visits to the school which can be arranged through the main school office. Our school is committed to safeguarding and the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
