SENIOR SCIENCE TECHNICIAN
(Immediate start)
37 hours per week + training days, term time only
Support staff scale 14-18 £25,948.06 to £27,702.23 pro rata
We are seeking to appoint an organised, enthusiastic, and experienced Senior Science Technician to lead our dedicated technician team.
This is a pivotal role within our science department. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient running of our preparation and teaching areas across the secondary schol. If you are a collaborative team player with a passion for supporting practical science education, a sharp eye for health and safety, and the leadership skills to inspire a team, we want to hear from you.
The Role & Key Responsibilities
Leadership: Lead, manage, and coordinate the science technician team to support staff and students.
Operations: Oversee the daily running, maintenance, and organisation of labs and prep areas across two school bases.
Curriculum Support: Prepare materials, practicals, and equipment efficiently across a wide range of science topics.
Health & Safety: Maintain strict compliance with safety regulations regarding the handling, storage, and disposal of lab materials.
We are looking for a candidate with relevant experience in a school/lab setting or a subject-related qualification.The successful candidate will have excellent communication, standard ICT skills, workload management, and strong technical/safety knowledge.
It is an exciting time to join Helena Romanes School as we have a new building commissioned by the DofE and the prospect of moving into state-of-the-art new premises is on the horizon. The primary phase is scheduled to move in the autumn of 2027-28 with the secondary phase not long afterwards.
