We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly committed Class Teacher with a strong commitment to championing inclusive practice, to join our Preparing for Life pathway at Market Field College, a specialist provision for students aged 16-19 with Special Educational Needs.
Preparing for Life (Pathway 1) is designed for learners who require the highest level of support within our core offer. Learners on this pathway present with a diverse range of communication, social and academic needs, typically working at low Entry Levels. They require structured support to develop interaction, social understanding, emotional regulation and independence, and benefit from predictable routines, repetition and carefully scaffolded learning experiences delivered through meaningful, real-life contexts.
The pathway focuses on developing essential life skills, communication and participation in community life, enabling learners to build confidence and progress towards greater independence and active citizenship.
The role requires a practitioner who can create a nurturing, communication-rich and highly structured learning environment, adapting provision responsively to meet the complex and evolving needs of the cohort.
The post holder will also act as a form tutor, providing pastoral care, monitoring progress and supporting EHCP outcomes in partnership with families and a range of professionals.
At Market Field College, all staff work within a therapeutic, relational approach to behaviour, where positive relationships and emotional safety underpin all aspects of learning.
A clear understanding of safeguarding is essential.
Contracted working hours per week 32.5.
Actual salary UQT £22,601 - £35,259. / MPS £32,916 - £45,352.
