We are seeking a friendly, efficient, and highly organised Administrative Assistant to join our front office team at Kelvedon St Mary's CofE Primary Academy, part of the Canonium Learning Trust.

This is a key role in the daily running of the school and we are looking for someone who is not only efficient and organised but who also brings warmth, patience, and a positive attitude to their work.

You will often be the first point of contact for visitors, families and children, so a welcoming and professional manner is essential. You should also have a strong adherence to confidentiality. There may also be a requirement to support children in school and so a calm, relational approach is key.

This role is varied and can be challenging so adaptability in a fast-paced environment is key to success. Experience of working in school is preferred but not essential.

A candidate pack is included which provides details about the role, responsibilities and qualifications required.

The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm across 39 working weeks per year (term time + non-pupil days).

The actual salary starts at £22,458 per annum.

Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to our HR team at recruitment@canonium.org. We are here to support you throughout this process and look forward to the possibility of welcoming you to Canonium Learning Trust.

Information about the School

Kelvedon St Mary’s CofE Primary Academy, part of Canonium Learning Trust, is a 2-form entry primary Church of England school located in the heart of Kelvedon - a small town in mid Essex.

The school has a rich history of providing outstanding education to its students, and is committed to the values of the Church of England in everything it does.

The school has a Nursery and Autism Support Centre, and as the founding school of Canonium Learning Trust, hosts the Trust's central services team.

Influenced by the Church of England’s vision to educate for ‘life in all its fullness‘ (John 10:10), our focus on wisdom prioritises the spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, moral and social development of our children. We aim to inspire wisdom with a golden thread of deep knowledge, critical thinking, strong communication and exciting learning opportunities running consistently throughout our curriculum.

Ultimately, we want our pupils to leave our academy as knowledgeable, thoughtful and articulate individuals, who are equipped with the cultural capital to thrive in our evolving world and society. By working together, we ensure our pupils are supported and challenge to nurture a keen mind, a willingness to question and the ability to make right choices, so that they are prepared for secondary school and beyond.

We are proud to have been named "Tes Trust of the Year" (9 Schools or Fewer) in 2025, a national award that recognises excellence in education, innovation in leadership, and the power of community collaboration.

At the heart of our Trust is a shared belief that every child deserves the best possible education, regardless of the size or location of their school. We work relentlessly to nurture each child's potential and enthusiasm for learning, so that they leave our schools ready to embrace future challenges and make a positive contribution to society.
