Site Manager, Castledon School, Canvey Site
Required: August or September 2026
37 hours per week
SPLIT SHIFT WORKING PATTERN
6.30am - 10.30am and
2.30 - 6pm (5.30pm Friday)
Scale 6 - points 14 to 18
Total annual salary: £27,251 - £29,093
Term time plus 4 additional weeks (42 working weeks)
(Exact timings to be agreed; includes a break between shifts during the middle of the day)
Some flexibility will be required to support school events, lettings or occasional out-of-hours needs.
Castledon School is seeking to appoint a reliable, proactive and flexible Site Manager to support our new specialist provision on Canvey Island.
The successful candidate will help ensure the site is safe, secure, well-maintained and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors. The role includes site security, health and safety, maintenance, contractor liaison and supervision of caretaking and cleaning duties.
We are looking for someone who:
· experience of caretaking, site management or facilities maintenance
· good practical maintenance and DIY skills
· understands the importance of safeguarding and site security within a SEND environment
· canworkindependently and respond calmly to unexpected situations
· good organisational and communication skills

Prior to the opening of the Canvey school, the successful candidate will initially be based at the Wickford site, supporting both the ongoing operational needs of the existing site and transition preparations for the new provision.
You must have the willingness to be flexible across the Trust sites should the school continue to grow or other schools within the Trust need support (mileage would be paid), therefore a driving license is preferrable.
