Hours: 30 hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 15:30 with 30 minutes lunch break

Term Time including inset days (38 weeks per year)

Contract: This 30 hour vacancy is made up of two contracts as follows:

1. Fixed term until 31/08/2028 - this is linked to a child with EHCP

12.5 hours -Monday to Friday 9:00 to 11:30

2. Permanent

17.5 hours -Monday to Friday 11:30 to 15:30 (with 30 minutes lunch)

Salary: Scale 3. Pro Rata £17,580.27- £17,860.19 (FTE £25,988.90 - £26,402.70)

An opportunity has arisen to join our school community as a Learning Mentor. We are seeking a dedicated and supportive individual to work with pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them to engage positively in school life. The role involves supporting inclusion in a mainstream setting, using effective behaviour management strategies and contributing to individual support plans.

Candidates should have:

Good literacy and numeracy skills

Good organisational skills

Experience working with children with high levels of need

Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults

Skills and expertise in understanding the needs of all pupils

Knowledge of how to help adapt and deliver support to meet individual needs

Subject and curriculum knowledge relevant to the role, and ability to apply this effectively in supporting teachers and pupils

Excellent verbal communication skills

Active listening skills

The ability to remain calm at all times

Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children and a commitment to ongoing training in this area

Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning

Understanding of roles and responsibilities within the classroom and whole school structures.
