We are looking for an LSA who has a special interest in pastoral/social and emotional support. We are looking to build a full time LSA role into our team with a focus on emotional well-being/pastoral support for our SEND and SEMH children. The role would involve working with a variety of different children across the primary phase on their social and emotional development. Support could be: supporting soft starts in the morning, running activities such as Lego therapy, time to talk, smart thinking etc, or supporting regulation time. Some of the work would involve working outside the classroom with children on specific interventions, other parts of the role will require you to be supporting them within the classroom.
You will work closely with our SENCO, our children and families. We are very passionate about inclusion and well-being so the right candidate will have a good understanding of SEND, will have knowledge of TPP and be keen to work as part of our welcoming team. If this matches your values and skillset then we would love to hear from you! The role is currently being advertised as a 1-year fixed term contract; however we hope to secure further funding to enable this to be a permanent position. The successful candidate will:
- Have a good understanding of SEND.
- Be passionate about good outcomes for all children.
- Be approachable and fair.
- Have a good level of computer literacy (desirable).
- Be able to work as part of a team, but also independently.
- Be able to contribute to one planning or EHC reviews.
We value the development of staff and would be keen to support the successful candidate in completing an additional qualification such as: Pastoral Support Practitioner Apprenticeship Level 4 - https://www.bestpracticenet.co.uk/Pastoral-Support-Practitioner-Apprenticeship-Level-4.
Please note the role is not an apprenticeship wage, it is an LSA wage.
This position is for 27.5 hours per week, term time only.
