Castledon School is seeking an exceptional Assistant Headteacher to join our leadership team and play a key role in the development of our brand new satellite provision in Canvey.
Castledon School is an 'Outstanding' special school supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs. Our new Canvey satellite provision will provide specialist education for pupils from school year 1 - 6 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) within a purpose-built learning environment.
This is a rare opportunity to help shape a brand new provision from the outset. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of School, an experienced SEND leader, to develop the curriculum, systems and culture of the provision.
The role will be principally based at the Canvey satellite site, although there will be some work across the wider school, including collaboration with colleagues at the Castledon Wickford site for training, leadership development and whole-school initiatives.
We are looking for a leader who:
Has strong experience in SEND education, ideally including pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
Can contribute to the development of a high-quality specialist curriculum
Is passionate about improving outcomes for pupils with complex needs
Demonstrates strong safeguarding, pastoral and behaviour leadership
Works collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals
Is excited by the opportunity to help build and develop a new provision
