Finance Apprentice - Level 3

GLC Academy: Central Team

Salary:Circa £20,875 [Subject to experience], with a planned increase upon completion of the apprenticeship

Working Pattern: 37 hours per week,

Contract: Permanent

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Apprentice to join our team.This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive educational environment while earning a professional qualification.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a vital role in supporting the Trust's financial health. Your responsibilities will include:

Financial Operations:Taking full ownership of the purchase ledger, raising sales invoices, and processing bank payments via Civica Financials.
Data & Analysis:Using Excel formulas and pivot tables to analyse financial reports against business KPIs.
Reporting:Assisting with month-end and year-end processes, including bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and credit card processing.
Collaboration:Liaising with customers and suppliers to resolve queries and assisting with internal and external audits.
School Support: Processing staff orders and overseeing credit card purchases in line with school policy.

We are looking to appoint a team player who is passionate about numeracy and professional growth.

Education:5 GCSEs (including Maths and English) at Grades 4/C or above.

Skills:Excellent IT skills (specifically MS Excel), high attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills to communicate with staff and parents.

Mindset:A flexible, co-operative approach and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Eligibility:You must not already hold a qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject.
