Family Inclusion Team Officer (Safeguarding, Attendance and Family Support)
34.50 hours per week
8.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday & 8.30am to 3.30pm Friday
Scale 7 (points 19-24)
Actual salary £24,998 - £27,611 (Scale 7, Points 19-24)
Term time only (38 working weeks)
Castledon School is seeking to appoint a Family Inclusion Team Officer to join our safeguarding and pastoral team.
The post will be primarily based at the Castledon satellite provision on the Canvey site, although the successful candidate will occasionally work at the main Castledon School site for training, meetings or joint work with the wider safeguarding and pastoral team.
This is a key pastoral role supporting the school's safeguarding, attendance and family support systems to ensure pupils and their families receive timely and effective support.
The role sits within the Family Inclusion Team (FIT) and will involve working closely with pupils, families, staff and external professionals to support pupils' safety, wellbeing and engagement in school.
The role will involve working directly with pupils and families and may include home visits, attendance support and liaison with external professionals as part of multi-agency working to support vulnerable pupils.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
- Can work sensitively and confidentially with families
- Is proactive and able to work under pressure
- Builds positive relationships with pupils, families and professionals
The successful candidate will have:
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent
- Experience in an education, safeguarding or pastoral role
- Understanding of special educational needs
- Strong written and IT skills, including the use of online systems
- The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
