Finance Manager
Start date: September 2026
Permanent contract
37 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Term time plus 2 weeks, plus 5 INSET Training days, as required at the discretion of the Headteacher.
Salary - Band 6 (CCT Thurrock Academies Pay Scale) - Salary Range - Point 23 - 32.
Actual Working Salary £29,712 - £37,295 (which includes fringe allowance)
Salary point dependent upon experience.
The Christus Catholic Trust and the Local Governing Committee of this vibrant and successful school, wish to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to join our friendly and dedicated staff team. St Thomas' is a popular school, founded in 1886, with facilities that provide an engaging working and learning environment. The successful candidate will:
• Be enthusiastic, flexible, confident and able to show initiative and resilience
• Be an effective communicator with all staff, governors and the Trust
• Be self-motivated with high expectations of self and others
• Hold at least an A - C pass in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Have experience in financial management and budgeting
• Be committed to providing a 'child- centred nurturing' ethos
• Work under direct supervision of the Headteacher/CFO and CSEL
. Prepare the school's year end accounts
. Monitoring the annual budget and presenting reports to Headteacher/CFO/Governors
. Manage day to day financial, premisis operations and contracts
• Be responsible for the safeguarding and welfare of pupils across the school under direction of the Headteacher.
• Have good organisation and communication skills, and attention to detail
• Attend INSET days and training as identified by the Head teacher
• Be fully supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school (but does not need to be Catholic)
