Speech and Language Support LSA
Pay scale range: Level 5 point 9: £18,736.38 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Monday - Friday 9.00 - 15.30 (Term time only)
Initially the contract for this position will be for a fixed term of one year.
St Mary's Prittlewell, CofE Primary School is seeking a patient, dedicated and skilled Speech and Language Support Learning Support Assistant to deliver high‑quality speech, language and communication support for pupils across the school.
This is an essential role within our inclusive school community. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the SENCo and teaching staff to provide targeted intervention, ensure Speech and Language Care Plans are followed effectively, and help pupils communicate confidently so they can fully access learning.
Key Responsibilities:
· Deliver targeted speech and language interventions across the school.
· Oversee and implement Speech and Language Care Plans.
· Maintain and update records of pupil needs, interventions and progress.
· Liaise with external therapists and support inclusive classroom practice.
· Observe, assess and record pupil progress for reviews.
· Prepare and adapt specialist resources, including ICT tools, and work collaboratively with families and staff.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs, has excellent communication and organisational skills, can follow specialist guidance to implement tailored programmes, is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil wellbeing, and works effectively as part of a supportive staff team.

The appointment will be subject to a successful enhanced DBS check, medical check, social media check, receipt of two references in addition to relevant background checks and certificated evidence of the required qualifications. You will be required to provide proof of ID for your DBS check, such as a valid driving license, valid passport and recent Council Tax letter. Other forms of ID may be accepted and a complete list can be provided by the school.
