We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our KS2 team for maternity cover. As a small school with a big heart and a real family feel, we're looking for someone who can slot into our close‑knit staff team with positivity, flexibility, and a good sense of humour.No day is the same, and every day brings a new opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience as an LSA is essential
- Experience working with SEND is desirable
- A calm, adaptable approach - essential in our small, collaborative team
- Experience of running interventions to help children catch up and keep up
- Experience supporting all children, including those with high SEND needs
- Enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to learn and train
- Someone who embraces every aspect of school life
- A kind, child‑centred approach
- Hardworking and reliable, with a great sense of humour

This post is fixed-term until the end of the Summer Term 2026, offering a fantastic opportunity to have a real impact.
The hours for this position is from 8.45am through until 3.00pm, with the addition of half an hour Midday Assistant duty.

Information about the School
Baynards is a smaller than average sized primary school with a big heart! It is located on the edge of Tiptree village within easy reach of Colchester. We currently have a roll of just over 100 pupils who learn in 4 spacious, bright and well-resourced classrooms. The children are delightful and are very enthusiastic about their learning. Baynards Primary School is an active member of a consortium of 15 primary schools in the local area and has regular contact with peers and colleagues in the group. We have a recently expanded Governing Body who are dedicated and strive for excellence for all pupils.
Teachers set high expectations for all pupils and those with special educational needs are supported at all times, both academically and socially. The Teachers are supported by the pupils who are proud of who they are and are keen to progress.
Baynards Primary School is dedicated to ensuring that all pupils develop a love of learning and also respect and care for one another.
