Librarianat Manningtree High School
Pay Scale - Scale 5, points 9 - 12
Location: Manningtree High School, Colchester Road, Lawford, Manningtree CO11 2BW
Start Date: 13th of April or as soon as possible
Hours / Week: 20-24 hours per week(Flexible days/Times)
Working Weeks:Term Time Only
Contract type: Permanent
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Librarian to join our secondary school team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about fostering a love of reading and learning in young people.
The successful candidate will be:
Flexible and posess good communicaton skills
Organised anddetail orientated - able to maintain accurate records and manage resources effectivley
Creative and resourceful - keen to develop engaging library activities and displays
Friendly and approachable- enjoys interacting with students and staff in a supportive manner
Have experience of Accelerated Reader and working with groups of students
Supervising the School Library, including administration, security, and control of pupil behaviour.
Proctive and adaptable with strong communication skills

Information about the School
Manningtree High School is a warm and welcoming learning community. We are ambitious for our students and our staff.
The school is situated close to areas of natural beauty on the Essex/Suffolk border. We have a comprehensive intake who travel from a wide area around: we are consistently oversubscribed.
The continuous improvement of teaching and learning is important to us and we want to recruit staff who love their profession and are energised by helping young people gain knowledge and skills. Our students are well behaved and enjoy belonging to MHS. Pastoral care is a real strength.
On the 1st September 2019 Manningtree High School became a member of the Alpha Trust, joining the Gilberd School, Colchester County High School for Girls, Home Farm Primary School and the planned Trinity School in that Multi Academy Trust.
Following our recent Section 5 Full Ofsted Inspection In January 2025, Manningtree High School has been rated ‘Good’ in all four key areas - Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, and Leadership and Management. The inspection judged safeguarding to be effective, Ofsted referenced that students are safe, and adults had their best interests at the forefront of their thinking.
