We are excited to welcome a caring and enthusiastic After School Club Assistant to join our happy team at St Peter's Church of England Primary School!

Our school is a warm and vibrant community with fantastic children and a supportive staff team. We are looking for someone who brings positivity, kindness, and a "can-do" attitude, and who will help us uphold our Christian values of respect, understanding, and forgiveness.

What you'll be doing:

  • Creating fun and engaging play opportunities in a safe, caring environment.
  • Looking after our children and making sure they feel happy and secure.
  • Preparing simple, tasty snacks and light meals.
  • Providing drinks and ensuring hygiene and safety standards are always met.
  • Giving first aid when needed (training provided).
  • Listening to children and involving them in planning exciting activities.
  • Taking part in training to help you grow in your role.
  • Helping keep the club safe and welcoming for everyone.

We'd love you to have:

  • A calm, friendly, and caring approach.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience working with children (in school or elsewhere).
  • The ability to follow instructions and also use your own initiative.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • A commitment to making every child feel valued and included.

Bonus: If you have children at our school, we may be able to offer funded childcare places in the After School Club - just ask us for details!

We are committed to keeping children safe and happy. All staff and volunteers share this commitment, and the successful applicant will need an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

For more information, please contact Ms Lene Johnson, Office Manager, on 01376 561328.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
