Shorefields School is a special needs school on the coastline of Essex.
We are currently looking to recruit a FIXED TERM- ASSISTANT CARETAKER until 31st August 2026.
Hours & Days Negotiable- It is more important to find the right person for the school! Part-Time flexible candidates considered! This position is to help manage a period of leave and support our school expansion which opens in January.
This role will be paid on Scale 4 point 7-8. (Hourly rate of £13.69 to £13.90 per hour)
We have 172 amazing pupils aged 3 to 19 identified with complex SEND. We are committed to providing an outstanding standard of education and facilities to support our learners.
Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, so please apply sooner than later.
We seek a reliable and dedicated caretaker who:
- Has experience in site maintenance, caretaking, or a similar role
· Is committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment
· Can carry out minor repairs, maintenance, and health & safety checks
· Is proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team
· Communicates effectively with staff, contractors, and the wider school community
· Is flexible and able to respond to the needs of the school
· Enjoys working in a cheerful, conscientious, and supportive site team
· Is creative and flexible in their approach to meet the site needs of all children
Information about the School
Shorefields School caters for the needs of pupils with a range of severe learning difficulties. We currently have 165 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 19 years. The school is located in the centre of Clacton-on-Sea close to the beach and shopping area. Our catchment area extends to the whole of the Tendring peninsula
